Company overview

We are a globally established brand with headquarters in [Europe / Asia / EMEA / LatAm], and a growing presence in the U.S. As we scale our operations across North America, we are seeking an innovative and commercially minded Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and market penetration. The Chief Marketing Officer CMO will play a pivotal role in localizing our global brand, accelerating customer acquisition, and shaping our U.S. go-to-market strategy.

CMO role summary

The CMO will serve as a key member of the U.S. executive team, responsible for leading and executing the full marketing strategy in the U.S. market. From brand positioning and integrated campaigns to digital growth and sales alignment, this role requires a hands-on marketing leader who can both think strategically and execute tactically. The ideal candidate has a strong track record of building marketing engines that deliver measurable business outcomes in fast-growing environments.

CMO key responsibilities

U.S. Marketing Strategy

Design and execute a comprehensive U.S. marketing strategy that supports commercial goals and aligns with global brand direction.

Brand Localization

Adapt and evolve the global brand to resonate with U.S. customers. Own messaging, visual identity, and positioning across all channels.

Demand Generation

Build and scale integrated demand generation programs across digital, SEO/SEM, email, social media, and events to drive qualified leads and pipeline growth.

Team Building & Leadership

Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing U.S. marketing team across functions including digital, content, and product marketing.

Sales Enablement

Work closely with U.S. sales leadership to ensure alignment on messaging, content, lead handoff processes, and conversion metrics.

Analytics & Performance

Define KPIs, track ROI across marketing programs, and optimize campaigns based on data and performance dashboards.

Thought Leadership & PR

Elevate the company’s U.S. market presence through thought leadership, earned media, analyst engagement, and executive visibility.

Candidate profile

Experience

Minimum 10 years in senior marketing leadership roles; ideally with experience scaling international brands in the U.S.

Track Record

Proven ability to build demand engines, develop local market positioning, and align marketing with business outcomes.

Channel Expertise

Deep expertise in digital marketing, campaign management, and modern marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo).

Leadership Style

Data-driven, collaborative, and execution-focused. Able to operate in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.

Industry Knowledge

Experience in [B2B/B2C/biotech/SaaS/life sciences – customize as needed] with an understanding of U.S. customer behavior and buying cycles.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business required. MBA preferred.

Compensation and benefits

Base Salary Range$240,000 – $300,000
Performance BonusUp to 40% of base salary
EquityStock options or long-term incentive plan negotiable

Location[New York / Hybrid / Remote with occasional travel to HQ or customer sites]
