FAQ

A CEO is the highest-ranking executive responsible for steering the company’s strategy, managing organizational operations, and ensuring profitability. They set vision, allocate resources, oversee executive teams, communicate with the board, and act as the organization’s public face.

Daily duties vary by company size and stage. Common tasks include reviewing financial reports, leading board and executive meetings, making major corporate decisions, shaping organizational culture, and representing the company in public or media.

A CEO manages the overall strategy and business direction, reporting to the board. A President often serves as COO, handling daily operations and execution. The two roles may be combined in smaller firms but are distinct in larger organizations.

Top skills include strategic thinking, leadership, delegation, communication, decision-making, resource management, and stakeholder relationship skills. In smaller businesses, CEOs may also be deeply involved in operational execution.
